Hi Folks
Thought this web article on heuristic traps in avalanche assessment might be of interest: http://www.powder.com/human-factor/index.php?chapter=1&utm_source=Alpine+Club+of+Canada&utm_campaign=a5897e6c9b-Newsnet_Dec_18_2014&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f101f176b6-a5897e6c9b-22049961
A very worthwhile read.
It stimulates a lot of thought and brings back quite a few memories: of times I was scared and turned back, and of other times when the group decided to go on, and I stayed scared, even after nothing happened.
It seems to me that when things get unsure, everybody should think, talk and take the safest way; if things are so unsure, nobody know they are right.
Thanks, Dave, for bringing to our notice.
