I have not figured out how to set this up so I get a notification when something is posted. I am a great fan of “push” messages because I can see it instantly, I never get round to going to websites to check whether there is anything new.
Navigate to the preferences section on your profile page (e.g. click your avatar - top right, click your profile icon 
, then select preferences).
Have a look at the settings under the Notifications tab and the Emails tab.
