Hi , I have noted when reviewing the forums a number of topics are out of date and expired . It would be useful to remove especially in the sections advertising tours or meets as soon as the event has taken place .
Thanks
I think we need to develop a policy on managing older topics/posts. Perhaps it is something for the comms group to discuss? For example, it is possible to close or archive a topic in the Club Tours & Meets category, thus preventing any new post but making it available for reference by others planning something similar. Alternatively, a topic can be “unlisted” so that it is only accessible via a direct link.
In addition, topic creators can edit the original title to indicate the tour has completed or, in the For Sale category, that an item is sold. Note that any member can flag a post for the attention of moderators - for whatever reason.
I agree we need to have something in place to retain any useful information and delete anything that has expired . When I look at the section under tours most of the posts are out of date and not relevant and just hinder any useful searches . As admin for the site are you able to follow up with the Comms sec ? Regards
Yes, will do.
