Going to Lyngen peninsula with my son this easter. Was wondering if there is an android dowload gps map available/worthwhile for a one of trip or do I need to buy the two maps. I have looked on line but it is a bit confusing. Any advice or recommendations as well on easier good tours greatly appreciated, although I have bought the guide book. All the best Quint
Hi Quint
I use Viewranger for Android (free from Play Store), you can then download (at cost) Norwegian maps through Viewranger.
Or you can use Open Cycle maps which are free and give you topography but not other details.
or
Online Norwegian maps which you can print

There is still no substitute for a paper map sprawled across the table in the pub for planning. On screen maps are aweful for getting any overview.
I hope this helps.

Thanks Brent that viewranger App is brilliant - exactly what I was after. Will need the big map for the pub also. Your time taken to give this advice is very much appreciated. Cheers Quint
