Touring in the Alps in early May

Any recommendations for huts that may still be open or particular areas in the Alps in the first week of May that would be good for some easy-ish touring (S2, M2)? Looking to make the most of the bank holidays, driving out from the UK so we have some flexibility for where conditions are best.
